NATIONAL SPACE DAY

In celebration of National Space Day, a group of students from St. Jacob’s

Training College, Menamkulam, had the opportunity to visit the Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre

(VSSC) in Thumba, Thiruvananthapuram. Aug 23 holds particular significance as it marks

the first National Space Day, celebrated to commemorate the successful landing of the Vikram

lander of the Chandrayaan-3 mission on the moon’s south pole on August 23, 2023.

The theme for this year’s National Space Day,

“Touching Lives while Touching the Moon: India’s Space Saga".

The visit aimed to provide us with an in-depth understanding of the historical milestones and technological advancements of India’s space program.
