END OF SECOND PHASE - LAST DAY OF TEACHING PRACTICE

Date : 05/02/2025  My teaching practice experience at St. Antony’s H.S.S, Valiyathura, was overall a good one, but it came with its fair share of struggles. Being in a real classroom setting allowed me to apply the theories I had learned, but the practical challenges were often overwhelming. While I enjoyed teaching and interacting with the students, I found that keeping them engaged and ensuring smooth lesson delivery was not always easy. Despite the difficulties, I tried my best to adapt to the situation and improve my teaching methods over time. One of the biggest challenges I faced was poor classroom management. Maintaining discipline and keeping the students attentive proved to be much harder than I had anticipated. There were moments when the class became too noisy, and I struggled to regain control. INNOVATIVE MODEL - SECOND PHASE

 Date :30/01/2025 Topic : Homophones For my innovative model, I had taken grammar portion to 9A students. I took the class with the help of three charts which included still models and a chart. Students were able to grasp the concept thoroughly. The models opened the paths to creative learning and the teacher acted as a guide and a facilitator to the students. The activity sessions had made the students a lot better in learning the new concepts,. Students were eagerly waiting to know the answers of both activities. Activity Session

SECOND PHASE

 30/01/2025   Today, we reached the school premises at 9:00 am. We signed the attendance register. We helped the teachers for the preparation of the morning assembly as today marked the Martyrs Day in memory of Mahatma Gandhi. A quiz was conducted and prizes were given to the students by the HM.   During breaks hours, we ensured that the discipline was maintained in the school corridors. There was a surprise visit from our beloved teachers Swapna ma’am and Betty ma’am. They had observed our classes, signed our lessons plans, gave us advice and support for our future classes. We got our substitution hours where we gave notes for the chapters we taught. After the national anthem at 3:30pm, we ensured that the students boarded their respective buses. We signed the attendance register and left the school premises at 3:40pm.

PHASE TWO

 28/01/2025 Today, we started our day by reaching the school at 9:10 am. After the morning prayer, we signed the attendance register. We ensured that the discipline was maintained in the corridors during the break hours. We got substitution hours where we asked the students to read their textbooks and we took another class to the playground. We went to our respective classes, taught portions and gave notes to the students.   We had a surprise visit from our Principal, Lidson Sir who came to forsee our works and gave us valuable instructions needed for our future classes. The classes for the day ended at 3:30 pm. We ensured that the students boarded their respective buses. We signed the attendance register and left the school premises at 3:40 pm.

PHASE TWO

23/01/2025 The day of our teaching practice started at 9:10am and signed the attendance register after the morning prayer which was at 9:30am. During break hours, we ensured discipline in the corridors. In our classes, we gave notes on the previous chapter. During substitution hours, we engaged them with activities to which they had shown keen interest. Some of the students read illustrated books while others were interested to do activities as instructed by the teachers.  Classes ended at 3:30 pm. After ensuring the students boarded their buses, we signed out at 3:40 pm and left the school.

 22/01/2025 We arrived at the school at 9:00am and signed the attendance register after the morning prayer which was at 9:30am. During break hours, we ensured discipline in the corridors. In our classes, we gave notes on the previous chapter. During substitution hours, we had engaged them with some activities and brain storming sessions by giving them riddles and maths problems to solve. During the 3rd hour, some representatives from ‘National Force Academy’ came to our school to introduce different career opportunities in military and how one could pursue their own path towards their careers. Many of the students were interested and gave their names. Classes ended at 3:30 pm. After ensuring the students boarded their buses, we signed out at 3:40 pm and left the school.

After ensuring the students boarded their buses, we signed out at 3:40 pm and left the school.

PHASE TWO

 17/01/2025 We began at 9:00 am by signing the attendance register after the morning prayer. We maintained discipline in the corridors during breaks, taught our lessons, and handled substitution periods, providing students with notes.   As part of observing our class, Swapna Ma'am (Faculty- ENGLISH) came to our school during the 3rd hour. She observed our class, gave us suggestions and gave an insight about the works to be submitted. She also signed both of our lesson plans and reflective journals. The day concluded at 3:45pm, after which we ensured students boarded their buses, signed out, and left the school at 4:00pm.

PHASE TWO

 13/01/2025 The fifteenth day of our teaching practice session started at 9:10 am. After the morning prayer, we signed the attendance register. We ensured that the discipline was maintained in the corridors during the break hours. We got substitution hours where we asked the students to complete their pending works. We went to our respective classes, taught portions and gave notes to the students. The classes for the day came to an end at 2:00pm as there was PTA meeting. We had signed the attendance register and left the school premises at 3:40 pm.

PHASE TWO

 Date : 10/01/2025 We reached the school premises at 9:10 am. After the morning prayer, we signed the attendance register. At 10:00 am, class 8th and 9th students were taken to the general hall for a motivation talk by Miss.Latha on ‘How to ease your exams’. The students were attentive to the class and they were very interested to know more about the talk. We went to our respective classes and taught our portions. We also gave them notes. As teachers were busy, they handed over the substitution hours to us and we had made the class interesting by giving them activities. As it was Friday, the classes came to an end at 3:45. After the national anthem was sung, we had lined up the students to get into their respective buses. We signed the attendance register for the day and left the school premises at 4 pm.

PHASE TWO- SCHOOL TRIP

 Date: 9/1/25 Report: St. Antony’s H.S.S, Valiyathura  We reached the school premises at 9:10 am. After the morning prayer, we signed the attendance register. As planned, the students were taken for a study tour by the teachers to visit ‘The Kerala Legislative Assembly’, Museum and Zoo. We reached the destination by 11:15. The tour to the Legislative Assembly was very informative to the students as well as for the teachers.Then, we went to museum and then after that, we went to Zoo.  We had reached the school premises by 6. This day was very much useful for our training period.

PHASE TWO

Date: 07/01/2025 Report: St.Antony’s H.S.S, Valiathura  Today we reached the school premises at 9:00 am. After the morning prayer at 9:30 am, we signed the attendance register. We went for teaching in our respective classes and got substitution hours. During break hours, we ensured that the discipline was strictly followed by the students.  In the last hour, we helped teachers in calculating the marks and entered into their record sheets. As usual, we checked that the students had boarded their respective buses after the national anthem. We left the school premises at 3:45 pm.

PHASE TWO

Date : 06/02/2025 Report: St. Antony’s H.S.S, Valiathura  We reached the school premises at 9 am. After the morning assembly, we signed the attendance register. We were given the duty of ensuring the discipline during the break hours. We went to our respective classes, taught our portions and also engaged the students with some activities. We were also given substitution hours where we had given them word games and made them talk about their Christmas and how they had spent their time. After the national anthem at 3:30pm, we ensured that that the students entered in their respective buses and after signing the register, we left the school premises at 3:45 pm.
